from my grandmother’s travel journal on May 21st, 1979: “Rode homewards
and saw a road poster to ‘This is the Place’ Monument and, on spur of
the moment, turned into it. Neat and green, as everything connected with
the Mormons. We still stood and enjoyed for awhile the wide view around
– three sides mountains with snowy tops and soft folded hills in that
special velvety green-brown color.”
