Mammoth Campground in Yellowstone National Park | May 1981 & September 2015
Excerpt from my grandmother’s travel journal on May 30th, 1981: “Up at 7:30. Nobody in the wash house yet, where there is only one sink! So I had it for myself for an appropriate time. We made breakfast, a bottle of hot tea, packed what was necessary to stay for another night, and left the tent at Site #19 for the day.”
While replicating this photo, I had the pleasure of meeting a retired couple from Seattle at the site just across the way. Three hours later, after some great conversation and dinner served in their RV, I left the campground with two new friends.
