Lombard Street in San Francisco, California | April 1979 & May 2016
Excerpt from my grandmother’s travel journal on April 27th, 1979:“Took the cable car back to the wharf, tripped down the ‘crookedest street’ on foot, picked up the car, and went on a sightseeing drive up Mason Street. Must have picked the steepest up and down road in the city – my heart got stuck in my mouth and I felt like jumping out of the car for fear of rolling backwards!”
