Victorian Gambling Hall in Sparks, Nevada | June 1997 & May 2015

from my grandmother’s travel journal on June 8th, 1997: “Some blocks up
from our motel on Victorian Avenue is a flower and tree studded plaza,
lined by gambling casinos and restaurants – hardly anybody in sight.”
In
all of the places that I’ve traveled to for the project, this
was the first time that a prominent building in any of the photographs
was completely gone.
